The Privacy Paradox

Your privacy: who is responsible for it? This session will delve into where responsibility for ensuring consumer privacy lies: with the individual, technology companies, the government – or all three. The outstanding panel of industry leaders will include privacy perspectives from a legislative activist from EFF.org, a Forbes tech journalist, a tech industry analyst & a privacy-first technology company.

Should Your Enterprise Choose Blockchain?

If you’re not clear on how blockchain can benefit your business, this is the session for you to discover why it is the ultimate game-changer. This fast-paced session provides a snapshot of the power of blockchain technology within the enterprise and quick, actionable tips on how to make it work to benefit your business.

It’s Blockchain, Bitches

We can thank the crypto hype for creating more awareness and understanding of blockchain – not just among investors or financiers but for enterprises as well. No longer viewed as an abstract technology supporting cryptocurrencies, the perception and application of blockchain technology is rapidly advancing. This presentation provides insider secrets into ways blockchain is changing enterprise and real-world applications for how it can add the most value to your business.

Tech Killed Privacy: Can We Save It?

Despite their protestations to the contrary, companies like Google and Facebook may never prioritize consumer privacy over revenue or profitability. The only way to truly opt-out is to abandon all online interactions, which isn’t practical for most of us. During this session, you’ll learn how to limit the incremental loss of privacy and take back control of your security and online privacy.

Consumer Privacy is Dead – Or Is It?

After more than a year of headlines highlighting the serious misuse of consumer personal data by hackers, governments and tech giants alike, Americans no longer feel that their personal information is safe – and they are right to believe this. This presentation will provide an overview of the privacy landscape right now, the outlook for the near future, as well as actionable, easily-digestible tips for consumers to take back control of their privacy online.

Who Is Responsible for Your Privacy?

For too long online privacy was deemed a security issue. Today, privacy is recognized as a fundamental right. In this session, the audience will be guided through a discussion on privacy regulation. Speakers from a privacy-first company, a long-time tech industry analyst and Lenovo, a multinational technology company will offer their unique perspective on privacy as it pertains to global regulation, regulation of companies, the impact of GDPR & how consumers can & will respond to potential new privacy laws.

Privacy by Design

This session will take a look at how hardware manufacturers can step into the privacy arena by becoming the de facto standard for embedded privacy solutions & ultimately pass control of personal information back to the individual. Speakers on this panel will discuss how tech companies can rise to the opportunity to protect their customers while still maintaining consumer trust.

When Privacy is a Choice, Humanity is Free

Pandora’s Box has been opened, with our private data scattered online to the winds, where it’s often sold and/or stored with companies and in places we’ve altogether forgotten. Data privacy should be a right for all consumers, but online privacy has proven to be impossible to manage. Consumers need a way to take data privacy into their own hands where they control their privacy and have the “choice” to be private or not. Audience members will learn how to move through the digital world without needing to choose between total online anonymity and the right level of privacy.

Community voting takes place now, through August 23, 2019. So let’s get picking!

Step One: Create a PanelPicker account (& confirm your email)

Step Two: Vote for your favorite sessions

Step Three: Share on social and ask your family and friends to vote too!
